A committed sports medicine specialist, Dr. Crosson is in practice at OAA Orthopedic Specialists, seeing patients at their offices in Allentown and Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. She enjoys caring for athletes and encouraging people to be active and live healthy lifestyles.
The doctor is one of the few physicians in the Lehigh Valley that offers orthobiologic treatment options, including platelet rich plasma (PRP) therapy and stem cell therapy. She has the distinction of being an affiliate of Bluetail Medical Group – a nationally renowned leader in the practice and advancement of orthopaedic orthobiologic medicine.
OAA Orthopedic Specialists is the oldest, private orthopedic practice in the Lehigh Valley area dating back to 1970. Their mission is to provide comprehensive orthopedic care to individuals of all ages, using a physician-led approach that is dedicated to convenience, cost effectiveness, quality, and passion, with the common goal of improving their patients’ lives.
Originally from Wayne, New Jersey, Dr. Crosson completed her undergraduate studies at Muhlenberg College, and graduated with her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. She completed a residency in family practice medicine at Mercy Suburban Hospital followed by a fellowship in sports medicine at St. Luke’s University Health Network. She also holds a Master of Business Administration degree (MBA) from St. Joseph’s University.
Passionate about her profession, the doctor is board-certified in sports medicine and family practice by the American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians (AOBFP). The AOBFP is an organization that provides board certification to qualified osteopathic physicians who specialize in delivering comprehensive primary care for patients of all ages, genders, and addressing all parts of the body.
Enjoying all facets of sports medicine, including the management of concussions, she is also certified by the Pennsylvania Medical Society and Sport Safety International as a ConcussionWise Physician. As part of her commitment to education and concussion awareness, she lectures to other health care professionals and members of the community about concussion prevention and protocols.
Professionally, Dr. Crosson is an active member of the American Osteopathic Association for Sports Medicine, the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine, the American Osteopathic Association, and the Pennsylvania Osteopathic Medical Association.
Sports medicine is the medical specialty concerned with the prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of injuries due to athletic activity. Sports medicine specialists are either orthopedic surgeons or primary care physicians who prescribe treatments for professional and amateur athletes. They are trained to address issues associated with nutrition, sports psychology, and substance abuse. They may also counsel athletes on injury prevention.
Formerly a captain of the Muhlenberg women’s basketball team, Dr. Crosson is also proud of finishing three marathons, multiple half marathons, and triathlons – three of which were with Team in Training, which raises money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Currently, she is a member of the United States Ski and Snowboarding Association’s Physician Pool and is one of the Primary Care Physicians for the Lehigh Valley Ironpigs. She has been the recipient of the Patients’ Choice Award in 2016.
When not caring for patients, she stays fit by running with her favorite personal trainer (her rescue dog) and weightlifting. She also enjoys spending time with her family.
