A seasoned professional in the field of dentistry, Dr. Paiva-Borduas leads the team at White Street Smiles in Danbury, Connecticut. She is proud to provide a transparent approach to patient care – an open dialogue to improve oral health and general well being.
White Street Smiles is a general, family dental team with a simple mission: practice open, honest communication to provide each patient a personal oral health care plan. The dental practice supports families in Greater Danbury communities by offering comprehensive dental care, built on trust and comfort. It will: help people improve their oral health, utilize proven diagnostic technology and effective treatments, empower people to make knowledgeable decisions, offer high-quality dental materials, and honor patients’ needs.
Born and raised in Danbury, Dr. Paiva-Borduas is an alum of Danbury High School – class of 1983. She continued her love of science at the University of Miami, and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and a Chemistry minor. She then earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the New York University College of Dentistry. She received the President’s Award for Volunteerism and was selected to participate in the Honors Program for Seniors, after which she completed her General Dental Residency at Danbury Hospital.
Among her dental affiliations, Dr. Paiva-Borduas is an active member of the American Dental Association, the Connecticut State Dental Association, and the Greater Danbury Dental Society. She is also on the Disaster Identification Response Team (State of CT) and the Portuguese Cultural Center (former Vice President of the Membership Committee).
With an interest in forensic dentistry, she continues to enhance her knowledge of dentistry by attending numerous dental courses.
Dentistry, also known as Dental and Oral Medicine, is a branch of medicine that consists of the study, diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of diseases, disorders, and conditions of the oral cavity. Dentists diagnose and treat dental issues and help patients develop better oral hygiene regimens. They clean teeth, correct bite issues, perform surgeries and extractions, and perform other duties to ensure that the teeth and mouth are healthy.
Outside of the office, Dr. Paiva-Borduas enjoys traveling, gardening, and interior decorating. Her favorite place to vacation is in St. Martin, and her favorite professional publication is the Journal of the American Dental Association. She resides in Woodbury with her husband, John.
