Dr. Somers, a distinguished obstetrician and gynecologist, is proud to offer a full spectrum of gynecological services tailored to meet the unique health needs of women at every stage of life. With a solid educational background and extensive experience, Dr. Somers is committed to partnering with her patients to promote health and wellness.
In regards to her educational background, she completed her undergraduate studies in Chemistry at the University of South Florida in Tampa, graduating in 1979. She then earned her medical degree from the same institution, completing her M.D. in 1982. Following her education, Dr. Somers pursued a rigorous residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan, where she became certified in 1986. She has been recognized as a Fellow of the American Board of Obstetrics & Gynecology since December 1989.
“We understand that every woman has unique health concerns,” says Dr. Somers. “From routine gynecological checkups to family planning, menopausal therapy, and specialized surgical procedures, our goal is to provide personalized care that addresses each patient’s specific needs.”

In her local area, Dr. Somers is affiliated with St. Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston, where she has served as an attending physician since 1994. She is an active member of several professional organizations, including the Essex County Medical Society, the American Medical Association, the American Fertility Society, and the American College of Obstetricians & Gynecologists, among others.
