Dr. Bottros is a board-certified, fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon who is currently serving patients at Ortho Illinois in Rockford, Illinois.

He is also trained in and has performed a significant number of out-patient total joint procedures that have allowed his patients to have a hip or knee replaced and recover from the convenience of their own home that same day.

A 2005 graduate of the State University of New York Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, Dr. Bottros went on to complete his internship and residency in orthopedic surgery at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation. Before establishing his private practice, he elected to pursue a fellowship in adult reconstructive orthopedic surgery at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois. 

“Growing up in a family of physicians has instilled within me that a career in medicine is a way of life, not just a job. The path to a medical career became even more focused through my interest in the biomechanics of the human body and in particular, joint function and movement” as stated by Dr. Bottros. 

The doctor is board-certified in orthopedic surgery by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery (ABOS). The ABOS is an organization with the goal of establishing educational and professional standards for orthopedic residents and surgeons, as well as evaluating the qualifications and competence of orthopedic surgeons.

To stay up to date in his field, he remains a member of the American Association of Orthopedic Surgeons and the American Medical Society. He also remains actively involved in continuing education and orthopedic research. 

An authority in his field, Dr. Bottros has been invited to present to peers at various lectures, as well as has authored numerous publications.

Orthopedic surgery or orthopedics is the branch of surgery concerned with conditions involving the musculoskeletal system.
