Johnson F. Tsui, MD, Urologist
Get to know Urologist Dr. Johnson F. Tsui, who serves patients throughout the State of New York.
Dr. Tsui is a board-eligible urologist who remains focused on practicing primarily general urology with an interest in endourology and stone disease. He also has a strong background in reconstruction, male sexual medicine, and voiding dysfunction from his residency training.
Whether he is in private practice or academic medicine, Dr. Tsui believes that it is important to continue to engage in academics. His goal is to practice urology in an integrated fashion so that the strengths of an interdisciplinary, team-based approach can be leveraged to the benefit of the patient.
Licensed to practice medicine in New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut, he is affiliated with Lenox Hill Hospital, New York-Presbyterian Queens, Ellis Hospital, and Griffin Hospital.
In regards to his educational background, Dr. Tsui graduated with his Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedicine from the Sophie Davis School of Biomedical Education in 2008. He then went on to earn his medical degree from the State University of New York Downstate Medical Center College of Medicine in 2012.
Furthering his training, he performed his internship at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University in 2013, his residency in surgery at Lenox Hill Hospital in 2014, and his residency in urology at Lenox Hill Hospital in 2018. He also completed a fellowship focused on endourology and minimally invasive surgery.
Continuously advancing his efforts, Dr. Tsui is an active member of the American Urological Association, the American Medical Association, and the American College of Surgeons.
Urology is the branch of medicine that focuses on surgical and medical diseases of the male and female urinary-tract system and the male reproductive organs. Urologists specialize in diseases of the urinary tract and the male reproductive system. Patients may be referred to a urologist if their physician suspects they may need treatment for a condition relating to the bladder, prostate, urethra, ureters, kidneys, and adrenal glands.
Professionally, Dr. Tsui is experienced in clinical urology research with numerous conference presentations and peer-reviewed articles in publications including Journal of Urology, European Urology, as well as Neurourology and Urodynamics.
On a more personal note, he is fluent in both English and Chinese (Mandarin).
