Alongside his clinical role, Dr. Tadeo is as a Nursing Instructor at California State University, Long Beach. His focus areas are professional roles for advanced practice nurses, healthcare economics, policy, information management, public health, and healthcare delivery systems.  

Prior to his current endeavours, he served as the Magnet Program Director charged with coordinating nursing strategies and projects toward the achievement of Magnet Designation. He guided all 6 Nursing Magnet Councils and their progress to address the Magnet Standards. In addition, he served as the Director of Infection Prevention & Control at Rancho Los Amigos National Rehabilitation Center, where he was responsible for the coordination and management of the organization-wide infection prevention and control program aimed at protecting the health and safety of patients and staff. He also served as a Public Health Nurse for the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health, responding to the health needs of the underserved population via individual/family, community, and systems focused practice.  

On the subject of his educational background, Dr. Tadeo earned his Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree, his Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree, and his Master of Public Health (MPH) degree from California State University, Long Beach. In 2015, he graduated with his Doctor of Nursing Practice (DPN) degree with an emphasis on Nursing Leadership from the Consortium of Schools of Nursing at California State University Fullerton, Long Beach, and Los Angeles. 

A staunch advocate for nursing, Dr. Tadeo strives to use his knowledge and experience to promote nursing and strengthen the nursing workforce to significantly impact quality patient outcomes. In order to stay up to date in his field, he remains a member of the American Nurses Association and the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing. 

A registered nurse (RN) is a nurse who has graduated from a nursing program and met the requirements outlined by a country, state, province or similar licensing body to obtain a nursing license. RNs fulfill a variety of job duties. In addition to their primary role in treating and caring for patients, their responsibilities also include educating patients and the public about a variety of medical conditions, as well as providing emotional support and advice to the families of their patients. Other RN job functions include leadership, research, performing diagnostic tests and analyzing results, operating medical equipment, administering medications, recording patients’ symptoms and medical histories, and assisting with patient rehabilitation and follow-up.

A clinical nurse specialist (CNS) provides an advanced level of care in hospitals and other clinical locations. They strive to improve healthcare through evidence-based practice at the individual patient and systems levels.

Recognized for his academic and clinical excellence, Dr. Tadeo is the recipient of several awards and honors, including: National Dean’s List (1993-1995), Dean’s List Award for Outstanding Student in Nursing (2000), Lillian Wald Award from the American Public Health Association (2005), Outstanding Public Health Nurse in the Service Planning Area 7 from the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health (2005), and Graduate Dean’s List Award for Outstanding Graduate Student in Nursing (2005).
