Katherine Taylor, MD, PhD, a Family Physician with Mind & Body Christain Health Group

Get to know Family Physician Dr. Katherine Taylor, who serves patients in Kennesaw, Georgia.

Dr. Taylor, a dedicated and compassionate family physician, is the Medical Director of Mind & Body Christain Health Group in Kennesaw, Georgia. Recognized as a provider who cares wholly for the person in her exam room, she enjoys the opportunity to serve patients and their families.

In January 2015, Mind & Body Christian Health Group was created by the husband and wife team, Brandon and Brittany Browne. The practice has grown by being mindful of the people it serves, integrating healthcare providers and providing a peaceful environment. Its mission is “to inspire and provide hope to individuals, families, and communities of their value and worth to our Creator and Savior by using our God-given talents, abilities, and education in healthcare to support and serve them.”

Throughout her academic career, Dr. Taylor attended the Georgia Institute of Technology, where she earned her bachelor’s, master’s, and doctorate degrees in electrical engineering. She admits that she was not ready to be in a field where she would predominantly be caring for others as she needed to do some healing of her own.

For a period of eight years, she taught engineering courses at Southern Polytech (now Kennesaw State’s Marietta Campus), and then taught a variety of science classes at Cherokee Christian School and Dominion Christian High School. It was during these experiences that she uncovered her love for human anatomy and how it functions. She attended Atlanta School of Massage and became a licensed massage therapist simply to be exposed to anatomy from a different and hands-on perspective.

Wanting to further her training, with much prayer, Dr. Taylor began to pursue the path to becoming a medical doctor once her youngest daughter graduated high school. In 2014, she graduated with her medical degree from the Morehouse School of Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia. She then went on to complete her residency at Floyd Medical Center.

A member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, the doctor is board-certified in family medicine by the American Board of Family Medicine, a non-profit, independent medical association of American physicians who practice in family medicine and its sub-specialties.

Family medicine is a medical specialty devoted to comprehensive health care for people of all ages. The specialist is called a family physician or family doctor. A family physician is often the first person a patient sees when seeking healthcare services. They examine and treat patients with a wide range of conditions and refer those with serious ailments to a specialist or appropriate facility.

On a more personal note, Dr. Taylor is a grandmother to four grandchildren. She loves to travel around the world and experience new adventures. She has swum with sharks, chased tornadoes, and visited a whole list of countries and states.

With a heart for the underserved, she is looking forward to developing a mobile clinic one day so that she can combine her love for travel with her compassionate heart.
