Kelly started out as an emergency medical technician (EMT) before deciding to move her way throughout the healthcare field. Her grandmother had always wanted to be a nurse and thought that Kelly would be a great fit for such a profession. Before she passed away, Kelly made a promise to her grandmother that she would finish nursing school and she kept that promise.
Kelly attributes her success to her constant support and encouragement from her mother. Moreover, dealing with her own health issues was an eye opener as to the kind of health care provider she wanted to be. Being in the patient’s shoes showed Kelly firsthand what the field was really about and encouraged her to always go that extra mile in providing quality care.
