Throughout her academic career, Dr. Effrein received her Master of Science Degree in Anatomy at Des Moines University in 2015. Four years later, in 2019, she graduated with honors and was in the top five of her class from Des Moines University College of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery.
In 2022, she successfully completed her residency in podiatric medicine and surgery with reconstructive rearfoot and ankle surgery at Detroit Medical Center. During her time there, Dr. Effrein served as chief resident and worked with over fifty physicians, alternating lower extremity trauma calls with orthopedic surgery every other week at a level two trauma center, as well as covering six different hospitals and ambulatory surgery centers.
Other rotations during her residency training included: orthopedic trauma surgery, infectious disease, internal medicine, vascular surgery, general surgery, and emergency medicine.
