An excellent emergency physician, Dr. Oyasu is the Founder and Executive Medical Director of ModernMed Recovery, with offices in Park Ridge and Lindenhurst, Illinois. He actively manages and provides physician oversight for the medication-assisted treatment of patients struggling with opioid addiction.
His 20 years as an emergency room physician exposed him to the growing epidemic of opioid addiction, along with the lack of treatment resources, so he felt the need to create a practice where patients are treated by caring physicians with professionalism. He has a special interest in linking the success of in-patient detoxification with long-term meaningful recovery.
Educated in the United States, Dr. Oyasu earned his medical degree from the University of Illinois College of Medicine. He then went on to further his training by completing a residency in emergency medicine at the University of Illinois at Chicago.
An expert in his field, the doctor is board-certified in emergency medicine by the American Board of Emergency Medicine (ABEM). The ABEM is one of 24 medical specialty certification boards recognized by the American Board of Medical Specialties.
Professionally, he currently serves on the board of directors for the Lake County Opioid Initiative and medical committee for the Chicago Area Opioid Task Force. He has been recognized locally and nationally as an advocate for compassionate treatment of this very special patient population.
