Dr. Lewis has been treating patients with chronic pain in Western Colorado and surrounding states since 2004. He is the Founder and President of Western Rockies Interventional Pain Specialists.
He takes great care to assure that his patients understand as much as possible about the pathology causing their chronic pain and the therapies that will be offered in an attempt to treat their pain.
“Patients and primary-care physicians need to know that there are a multitude of non-narcotic, noninvasive treatments now available for the treatment of all kinds of pain conditions. I like spending time with patients, listening to their concerns and connecting with them as people. My staff and I prefer to treat patients like family. Because people in pain need more than medical support – they need emotional support, compassion and pain relief” expressed the doctor.
Before embarking on his professional journey, Dr. Lewis obtained a Bachelor of Science degree with dual majors in Chemistry and Zoology from Northern Arizona University in 1986. While working on a master’s degree in neurophysiology at Northern Arizona University he was accepted to medical school and finished his medical degree at the University of Arizona College of Medicine in 1990. He finished his residency in anesthesiology at the University of Arizona in 1994.

Currently, he is the Director of the Outpatient Procedure Center at Colorado Canyons Hospital and Medical Center where he is also the Acting Director of the Department of anesthesiology. He enjoys teaching other physicians how to treat chronic pain with a wide variety of interventions.
