A board-certified and fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Witte is affiliated with Sano Orthopedics, seeing patients at their Leawood, Kansas and Lee’s Summit, Missouri offices. A native of Windsor, Missouri, Dr. Witte obtained his undergraduate degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia. He attended medical school at Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences while obtaining a Master of Business Administration degree in Healthcare Leadership from Rockhurst University.
Subsequently, he completed a fellowship in orthopedic sports medicine at the Andrews Institute for Orthopedics and Sports Medicine, working under the leadership of world-renowned orthopedic surgeon, Dr. James Andrews. During his sports medicine fellowship, he learned the latest techniques in the treatment of knee injuries, elbow complications, and shoulder conditions in athletes of all ages. He also learned how to manage an entire sports program and the relationships between parents, teams, and coaches that coincide with that management.
As a testament to his success, the doctor is board-certified in orthopedic surgery and sports medicine by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery (ABOS). The ABOS is an organization with the goal of establishing educational and professional standards for orthopedic residents and surgeons as well as evaluating the qualifications and competence of orthopedic surgeons.
Remaining up to date in his field, Dr. Witte is an active member of the American Osteopathic Academy of Orthopedics, the American Orthopedic Society of Sports Medicine, the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgery, the Arthroscopy Association of North America, and the International Cartilage Regeneration and Joint Preservation Society.
In his professional experience, he is the Chief of Surgery at Saint Luke’s South Hospital, Team Doctor for Avila University, and serves as an Associate Professor at Kansas City University. He can also be found on staff at Lee’s Summit Medical Center, Beacon Surgery Center, and Belton Regional Medical Center.
