The Ohio Kidney + Hypertension Center (OKHC) is a nephrology group practice with seven physicians and four nurse practitioners to serve twelve locations throughout Northeast Ohio. Their board-certified physicians offer compassion and distinguished care to patients living with the effects of kidney disease and hypertension. A native of Iraq, Dr. Shaheen graduated with his medical degree from the University of Mosul in 1998. Upon relocating to the United States, he completed his residency in internal medicine at the St. Vincent Charity Hospital in 2012, and his fellowship in nephrology at the UH Case Medical Center in 2016.
A Fellow of the American College of Physicians (FACP), the doctor is board-certified in nephrology and internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.
Among his other roles, he can be found on staff at St. Vincent Charity, Fairview, Lutheran, Medina, Marymount, South Pointe, Hillcrest, Southwest General, Regency, Kindred, Grace as well as UH Parma Medical Center.
