Kimberly Novenski: A Passion for Cardiology and Mentorship in Nursing

Trailblazing Nurse Practitioner at the Cardiovascular Institute of Scottsdale Strives to Inspire the Next Generation of Healthcare Professionals

Kimberly, a dedicated Nurse Practitioner at the Cardiovascular Institute of Scottsdale, has built an impressive career in nursing, marked by a commitment to excellence in cardiology and a passion for mentoring future healthcare leaders. Since launching her medical journey in 1992 at Scottsdale Memorial Hospital, Kimberly has cultivated a diverse skill set through extensive experience in various medical settings, including pediatric CVICU and emergency medicine.  

After earning her Associate’s degree in Nursing from Daytona State College in 2010, Kimberly furthered her education by graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Central Florida in 2013. She has continued her professional development with two Master’s degrees: one in Executive Nursing Leadership in 2019 and another in Nurse Practitioner studies in 2022. Kimberly is board-certified through the American Association of Nurse Practitioners and serves as a Cardiovascular Team Member of the American College of Cardiology.  

In her current role at the Cardiovascular Institute of Scottsdale, Kimberly conducts comprehensive patient assessments, diagnoses cardiovascular conditions, and collaborates with healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care. Her dedication to patient education on heart disease prevention and healthy lifestyle choices exemplifies her commitment to optimal patient outcomes. Additionally, she works part-time at Monte Nido Rosewood Ranch, where she supports adolescents and adults facing eating disorders.  

Kimberly attributes her success to the invaluable mentorship she received throughout her career, particularly from leaders like Dr. Dina Doolan, Jenni Balch, and Dr. Danielle Stearns. She emphasizes the importance of nurturing new graduates and is actively involved in creating a nursing leadership mentorship program to guide aspiring nurses.  

Outside of her professional commitments, Kimberly enjoys reading, spending time with family and friends, and cheering for her favorite football team, the Minnesota Vikings. As a board member for the Arizona Nurses Association Political Action Committee (AZNA PAC), she remains dedicated to advocating for the nursing profession and improving healthcare policies in Arizona.  

Kimberly’s unwavering commitment to patient care and mentorship reflects her belief that investing in the next generation of nurses is crucial for the future of healthcare.
