Among her various achievements, Dr. Silon has published articles on various topics, including one on distal radius fractures in the Journal of Hand Surgery and on endoscopic carpal tunnel release in the Journal of Plastics and Reconstructive Surgery. She is also the recipient of the Dr. Harold Frost Distinguished Resident Research Award and the Dr. Benjamin E. and Lila Obletz Award for Outstanding performance in Orthopaedic Surgery.
A member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the American Society for Surgery of the Hand, she is board-certified in orthopaedic surgery and hand surgery by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery (ABOS). The ABOS is an organization with the goal of establishing educational and professional standards for orthopaedic residents and surgeons, as well as evaluating the qualifications and competence of orthopaedic surgeons.
