Local Nurse Educator Inspires Through Compassion and Commitment

Kylah Rucker, DNP, MSN, RN, is making remarkable strides as a Clinical Nurse Educator and Nurse Supervisor at Comanche County Memorial Hospital, where her dedication to patient care and commitment to nursing education are transforming the local healthcare landscape. With a Doctorate of Nursing Practice in Educational Leadership from Chamberlain University and a Bachelor of Science in Registered Nursing from Midwestern State University, Kylah embodies the spirit of lifelong learning and professional growth in the nursing field.

Initially uninterested in nursing as a profession, her experience as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) during high school ignited a passion for patient care. The profound impact of losing her aunt at a young age motivated her to pursue nursing, as she sought to understand the complexities of health and illness and provide support to families facing similar grief.

Throughout her career, Kylah has cultivated a strong network of mentors who have guided her along the way. “I attribute my success to the unwavering support of my family and the incredible mentors I’ve encountered throughout my journey,” Kylah shares. “Their guidance has been invaluable, and I am proud to collaborate with them in my current role to enhance the quality of care we provide.”

In her multifaceted role, she combines her expertise in emergency medicine with her passion for education. She actively engages with patients in the emergency room, maintaining her skills while fostering a culture of learning among her colleagues. As a relief house supervisor, she oversees patient movement throughout the facility, ensuring efficient operations and high-quality care.

To boot, Kylah dedicates time to shaping the next generation of nurses as a previous instructor in a Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) program and current clinical adjunct for a BSN program. Her commitment to education extends beyond the classroom, as she emphasizes the importance of staying informed about the latest advancements in technology and evidence-based practices.

With her family and friends receiving care at Comanche County Memorial Hospital, she is deeply committed to ensuring that all staff members are equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to provide exceptional care. Her journey from CNA to Clinical Nurse Educator exemplifies the transformative power of nursing and the impact of dedicated professionals on their communities.
