A highly trained pulmonologist, Dr. Chapman is the Director of the Adult Program of the Mountain State Cystic Fibrosis Center located within WVU Medicine’s Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, West Virginia.

The Cystic Fibrosis Center is West Virginia’s only accredited cystic fibrosis center serving both children and adults, with the largest CF-specialized team in the region. The experienced team of specialists are actively involved in nationwide research and quality improvement efforts. All of them are specially trained and experienced in treating and managing CF and supporting patients and families.

Bringing outstanding clinical care and groundbreaking research to West Virginia and the surrounding region, the Cystic Fibrosis Center treats and manages CF and related conditions and complications. These can include: CF-related diabetes; depression, anxiety, and other mental health issues that can result from a chronic disease; gastrointestinal problems; and pulmonary infections, including atypical mycobacterial infections.

Before embarking on his professional journey, Dr. Chapman graduated with his medical degree from the West Virginia University School of Medicine in 2013. He then went on to perform his residency in internal medicine and his fellowship in pulmonary and critical care medicine at West Virginia University. 

With an unwavering commitment to his speciality, the doctor is board-certified in internal medicine, pulmonary disease, and critical care medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.

Holding an academic role, Dr. Chapman serves as an Assistant Professor of Pulmonary & Critical Care Medicine at the West Virginia University School of Medicine.
