Urgent Care Nevada LLC dba CareNow proudly announces that Lamont Tyler, DO, MSHQS, MSHLM, CPE, FAAFP, a highly experienced and board-certified physician in family medicine and urgent care, has been appointed as the Associate Chief Medical Director – National Group at HCA Healthcare Urgent Care as of 2024. Dr. Tyler, who joined CareNow in 2018 and became the Market Medical Director for HCA – Far West in 2020, brings a wealth of knowledge and leadership experience to this new role.
In his capacity as Associate Chief Medical Director, Dr. Tyler oversees provider performance and clinical excellence across more than 17 Urgent Care and Occupational Medicine clinics in the Greater Las Vegas area, including Las Vegas, North Las Vegas, and Henderson. His extensive background in family medicine and urgent care positions him uniquely to enhance patient care and operational efficiency within the organization.
Dr. Tyler’s educational journey began with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology from Loyola University – Chicago, followed by his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine Degree from the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine at Midwestern University in 1986. He completed his internship and residency at John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital of Cook County, leaving as chief resident in 1989.
Committed to lifelong learning, Dr. Tyler furthered his education with a Master of Science in Healthcare Leadership and Management from The University of Texas at Dallas in 2017 and a Master of Science in Healthcare Quality Safety and Management from Jefferson College of Population Health in 2019.
Dr. Tyler is board-certified in family medicine by the American Board of Family Medicine and in urgent care through the American Board of Urgent Care Medicine. His professional affiliations include being a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians (FAAFP) and an active member of several medical associations such as the American Academy of Urgent Care Medicine, the Illinois Academy of Family Medicine, the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine Alumni Association, the American College of Physician Executives, and the American Association for Physician Leadership.
A respected voice in the medical community, Dr. Tyler frequently shares his insights on health issues in the media, particularly emphasizing the importance of regular health screenings for early disease detection. He has also contributed to numerous speaker panels, discussing critical topics such as hypertension diagnosis and treatment.
Nominated for Illinois Family Physician of the Year in both 1990 and 1991, Dr. Tyler attributes his success to his strong values, integrity, and effective communication with patients. Outside of his professional commitments, he enjoys golfing and skiing and actively supports charitable organizations, including The Salvation Army, the American Red Cross, and the American Diabetes Association.
