A renowned male infertility specialist based in Houston, Texas, Dr. Lipshultz has been practicing in the field of male reproductive medicine and microsurgery for over 20 years and is considered a pioneer in urological microsurgery. He currently works at Baylor College of Medicine where he serves as Professor of Urology, Chief of the Division of Male Reproductive Medicine and Surgery and holds the Lester and Sue Smith Chair in Reproductive Medicine.
In his clinical role, he has performed more than 2,000 vasectomy reversals in his clinic and patients come from all over the United States and the world to receive treatment for male reproductive health issues. He has trained more than 40 fellows who are now in practice throughout the United States.
Following his training, the doctor attained board certification in urology through the American Board of Urology (ABU). The mission of the ABU is to act for the benefit of the public by establishing and maintaining standards of certification for urologists, working with certified urologists to achieve lifelong learning to insure the delivery of high quality, safe and ethical urologic care.
On a professional level, he is active in numerous scientific organizations, including being a Founder of the Society for the Study of Male Reproduction and a Past President of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine. He also served on the FDA Advisory Committee for Reproductive Health Drugs and was awarded the prestigious Hugh Hampton Young Award at the 2005 AUA Annual Meeting held in San Antonio, Texas. He has received numerous clinical awards and honors throughout his career.
An enthusiastic researcher, Dr. Lipshultz has been the principal investigator, lead author, and/or contributing author of hundreds of peer-reviewed research studies, scientific abstracts, book chapters, videos, and newsletters. His research and clinical trials have been reported in many top-tier medical journals and he is a member of the editorial board and/or a consulting editor for more than 20 medical journals. He has also appeared in several acclaimed publications and television shows as a well-known male infertility specialist.
