Laura Garofoli, RN, BSN, MSN, Owner and Founder of Lean On Me Caregiving & Lean On Me Nursing
Get to know Registered Nurse, Laura Garofoli, who serves patients in Dover, Delaware.
Laura is a registered nurse specializing in care management, care navigation, and all things caregiving. She serves as a Nurse Navigator and Elder Care Consultant at Lean On Me Caregiving, a 24-hour in-home care service offering supportive living, personal care, and wellness to retired executives in the comfort of their home.
“My clients include adult professionals seeking help for their aging loved ones, long distance family caregivers needing help to navigate the elder care and retirement living industry, assisted living facilities who need navigators to help their residents to stay in the facility longer, and attorneys and guardians seeking help for their clients” expressed Laura.
For exclusive skilled nursing, care management, and care navigation, she provides services under Lean On Me Nursing. She works with families needing a professional to navigate the healthcare continuum or facilities needing nurse delegation services.
She works with long distance family caregivers caring for their loved ones who are retired executives and adult children in the sandwich generation. She also helps families who do not want the stress of family caregiving, but want to see their loved one thrive in the place they know by heart – their home, on their own terms, regardless of their medical diagnosis.
At the start of her academic career, Laura graduated with her Licensed Practical Nurse degree and her Associate’s Degree in Nursing from Delaware Technical Community College in 2007 and 2008, respectively. She then earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree and her Master of Science in Nursing degree in Executive Nurse Leadership from Wilmington University in 2012 and 2015, respectively.
She understands elder care on the personal side, the family side, and the business side. It all started when her mother had a stroke at 48 years old, and struggled trying to find residual and compassionate care. Out of the need to care for her mother and help make family caregiving less stressful for others, her businesses were born.
Her children are also a big push for her. She had her first son when she was 21 and it kept her fighting to do more, to provide more, and to give him the life that she wanted him to have.
Holding certification as a Progressive Care Certified Nurse (PCCN), Laura is an active member of the National Nurses in Business Association, the National Care Planning Council, and the Central Delaware Chamber of Commerce.
