Leading Hand Surgeon, David Ruchelsman, MD, FAAOS is to be Recognized as a 2018 Top Doctor in Massachusetts

David Ruchelsman, MD, FAAOS, Chief of Hand Surgery at Newton-Wellesley Hospital, and affiliated with Massachusetts General Hospital and Tufts Medical Center, has been named a 2018 Top Doctor in Massachusetts. Dr. David Ruchelsman is a highly respected and experienced physician-surgeon, having been in practice for nearly 15 years. His career in medicine began in 2004 when he graduated with AOA honors from the New York University School of Medicine. After medical school, Dr. Ruchelsman completed his residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at the world-renowned New York University Hospital for Joint Diseases in New York, New York. Driven to further his expertise and knowledge, he undertook his hand and peripheral nerve surgery fellowship at the Massachusetts General Hospital in both the Departments of Orthopaedic Surgery and Plastic Surgery.

 

Dr. Ruchelsman is board-certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and has dedicated his life to delivering compassionate care. He is determined to enhance his patients’ quality of life, providing high quality, individualized care in order to ensure the most optimal results. With a passion for his work, Dr. Ruchelsman is noted for his expertise in hand and upper extremity surgery and peripheral nerve surgery. He is the President and Director of the Hand Surgery Research and Education Foundation. He is a hand and wrist sports medicine consultant for several athletic teams and programs including Harvard University (Division I Ivy League) and Boston College (Division I ACC). He continues to provide care for the professional athlete at the MLB, NHL, NFL, and NBA levels.

 

Dr. Ruchelsman continues to be at the forefront of innovation, surgical guidelines, and cutting-edge procedures in his field. He is a distinguished member of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand, American Association for Hand Surgery, and the International Society for Sport Traumatology of the Hand.
