Dr. Juliana O. Opong is a highly respected and experienced physician, having been in practice for over three decades. Her career in medicine began in 1986 when she graduated with her Medical Degree from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science & Technology in Ghana. She was one of two students selected to spend one year in Sheffield, England in infectious disease program sponsored by the British Council joined a selected group of three other English medical students. After medical school and after working in an outpatient clinic in Ghana for several years, Dr. Opong did her pediatric residency training at the Lincoln Medical and Mental Health Center from 1993 until 1996 and spent one the year 1996 through 1997 in a pediatric endocrine program at the Montefiore Medical Center both in New York.
She moved to California in 1997 and worked as a pediatrician in an underserved community in Coalinga, California for 3 years. She then moved to the Bay area in California and worked in Benicia and Vallejo as a pediatrician for 5 years. In 2005 she moved to Bakersfield, California and worked for one and a half years in Delano and then joined Kaiser Permanente pediatrics in Bakersfield in 2007. She has since been working with Kaiser Permanente until now.
Dr. Opong is certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and has dedicated her life to delivering compassionate care. She is determined to enhance her patients’ quality of life, providing high quality, individualized care in order to ensure the most optimal results.
