Get to know Depth Psychologist, Craniosacral Therapist and Somatic Experiencing Practitioner, Dr. Lila Eslinger, who serves patients in Merced County of California.
Dr. Eslinger is a Depth psychologist, CranioSacral Therapist and Somatic Experiencing practitioner in private practice in Merced County of California. Her passion is in blending the body and mind while using that connection to bridge a gap in psychological thinking. Her focus is to share her understanding of the innate healing power within the physical body when inviting the unconscious to participate.
“For many years, I have been observing and participating in the inspiring power of a healing transformation that happens from a body and mind connection. As the mind mirrors the body, story and image emerge to guide the individual into a journey of the numinous wherein an awakening of renewal emerges to assist insights of positive change. Each individual that accepts this personal journey experiences a transformation that opens the compassionate mind wherein a clearer vision emerges for seeing and understanding knowledge about the deeper self. The self becomes known,” as stated on her website.
In her professional experience, Dr. Eslinger currently serves as Program Manager of the Merced County Behavioral Health and Recovery Services satellite clinics within Los Banos and Livingston, California.
Having been practicing craniosacral therapy for over 25 years, she obtained her Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy along with licensure then continued to graduate from Pacifica Graduate Institute with a Doctorate degree in Depth Psychology with an Emphasis on Psychotherapy in 2014. She went on to complete “Somatic Experiencing” training in support of her focus on Trauma and how the body mind responds to trauma. This field of psychology takes an empirical and practical approach when studying the brain and human behavior.
Craniosacral therapy is an alternative treatment typically used by osteopaths, chiropractors, and massage therapists. It claims to use a gentle touch to manipulate the joints in the cranium or skull, parts of the pelvis, and the spine to treat disease. In addition to the direct treatment, a craniosacral therapist has a number of other responsibilities. These include listening to patients and taking down all the important information, maintaining detailed medical histories of all patients, and regularly updating their records.
