Get to know Pediatrician Dr. Linda George, who serves patients in Virginia.

Specializing in the health care of children, Dr. George is a caring pediatrician and a certified breastfeeding specialist. She is in practice with Pediatric Associates of Alexandria, seeing patients at the offices in Alexandria and Arlington, Virginia. Her clinical interests include well child care, newborn care, preventative medicine, and endocrine disorders. 

Providing the very best individualized healthcare to each patient, Pediatric Associates of Alexandria, Inc. has served the Northern Virginia, Maryland and Washington, D.C. area for over 50 years. The providers care for children from the time before they are born through childhood and adolescence and on to college. They see newborns at Inova Alexandria and Inova Fairfax hospital, and see children for all of their check-ups as well as when they are sick. Additionally, they provide lactation visits, asthma management visits, international travel visits, ADHD evaluations, and depression/anxiety evaluations.

Born in the midwest, Dr. George lived in Kerala, India during her early childhood years and then grew up in New York City.  After high school, she completed a combined B.S./M.D. program and received her medical degree from SUNY Downstate School of Medicine in Brooklyn, New York.  She moved to Massachusetts afterwards to complete her residency in pediatrics at Tufts University/Baystate Medical Center. 

Prior to joining Pediatric Associates of Alexandria, she worked as a pediatric hospitalist and as an assistant professor of pediatrics at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center.

A member of the American Academy of Pediatrics, the doctor is board-certified in pediatrics by the American Board of Pediatrics (ABP). The mission of the ABP is to advance child health by certifying pediatricians who meet standards of excellence and are committed to continuous learning and improvement.

Pediatrics is the branch of medicine that involves the medical care of infants, children, and adolescents. The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends people be under pediatric care up to the age of 21. Pediatricians provide medical care to people ranging in age from newborns to young adults. They are trained to examine, diagnose, and treat children with a wide variety of injuries and illnesses through all of their developmental stages, as they grow and mature.

Among her numerous accolades, Dr. George is the recipient of Patients’ Choice Award (2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018), Compassionate Doctor Recognition (2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2017, 2018), Compassionate Doctor Award – 5 Year Honoree (2014, 2015), On-Time Doctor Award (2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018), and Patients’ Choice 5th Anniversary Award (2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2020).

Outside of work, she enjoys cooking, hiking, traveling, going to outdoor concerts, and visiting museums. She lives with her husband, daughter, and son in Northern Virginia. She can speak both Spanish and Malayalam.
