In addition to her position with the Denver College of Nursing, she is a Perinatal Educator at Morton Plant Hospital, a 687-bed hospital located in Clearwater, Florida. She attributes her success to other nurses who mentored her and encouraged her. In turn, she now helps younger nurses to succeed. 

A nurse educator is a nurse who teaches and prepares licensed practical nurses and registered nurses for entry into practice positions. They can also teach in various patient care settings to provide continuing education to licensed nursing staff.
