A 1994 nursing graduate of Keewatin Community College, Lyla is a registered nurse working in The Pas, Manitoba, Canada. She has been a preceptor for 10 years, having taught an LPN program (clinical portion) for a year, and a flight nurse for approx. 7 years.

Having over two decades of experience, she was inspired by her grandmother, who encouraged her to become a nurse. She attributes her success to her good work ethic and her willingness to help others.

RNs fulfill a variety of job duties. Other RN job functions include leadership, research, performing diagnostic tests and analyzing results, operating medical equipment, administering medications, recording patients’ symptoms and medical histories, and assisting with patient rehabilitation and follow-up.
