Dr. Elsakka graduated with her Medical Degree from the Cairo University School of Medicine in 1986, giving her over three decades of experience in her field. After obtaining her Medical Degree she relocated to the United States where she completed her internship with the Saint Joseph’s Regional Medical Center. Wanting to further her training she then completed her internal medicine residency with the Seton Hall University School of Health and Medical Sciences, where she was involved in a case separating siamese twins in her chief year followed by an Anesthesiology residency with the Saint Joseph’s Regional Medical Center.
Dr. Elsakka is certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology. She currently practices with the Jersey Shore Anesthesiology Associates and is affiliated with the Jersey Shore University Medical Center, and the Southern Ocean Medical Center. She is bilingual and is fluent in both English and Arabic.
Anesthesiology is the practice of medicine dedicated to pain relief and total care of the surgical, trauma, and pediatric patients before, during, and after surgery. It encompasses anesthesia, intensive care medicine, critical emergency medicine and pain medicine. A anesthesiologist evaluates, diagnoses, and treats all different types of pain. Pain is a wide spectrum of disorders including acute pain, chronic pain and post operative pain management and sometimes a combination of these. Pain can also arise for many different reasons such as surgery, injury, nerve damage, and metabolic problems such as diabetes.
