After an internship at Newton Wellesley Hospital (1996), Dr. Nouri completed her ophthalmology residency at Mayo School of Graduate Medical Education (1997) and Drexel University – Hahnemann University Hospital (2001). She continued with fellowship in cornea and refractive surgery conducted at Massachusetts Eye & Ear Infirmary (2003).

Subsequent to his training, Dr. Nouri acquired board certification in ophthalmology from the American Board of Ophthalmology. The American Board of Ophthalmology is an independent, non-profit organization responsible for certifying ophthalmologists in the United States of America. Founded in 1916, the ABO was the first American Board established to certify medical specialists.

Ophthalmology is a branch of medicine and surgery that deals with the diagnosis and treatment of disorders of the eye. An ophthalmologist is a physician who specializes in ophthalmology. 

Dr. Nouri is a dedicated member of the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the International Ocular Surface Society, the Keratoprosthesis Study Group, the European Association for Vision and Eye Research and Tear Film and Ocular Surface Society.

Dr. Nouri commenced her foray in medical sciences research at Massachusetts General Hospital while an undergraduate at Boston University. She continued with ophthalmic research as a medical student and was awarded a grant from the Fight for Sight Division of the National Society to Prevent Blindness. 

“Dr. Nouri was a Research Affiliate in the Department of Chemical Engineering at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) upon completion of her fellowship training working on a Dry Eye Model and chemical modifications of drugs for prolonged and targeted delivery to the eye”, states the official website of her practice. Currently, her research interests are on the anterior segment, cornea and dry eyes.
