“I chose to be an Ear, Nose and Throat doctor because I like helping people with such essential senses and aspects of life — hearing, breathing, and smelling. I believe the care of a child should always be in the context of his or her family and culture, and I strive to create strong connections and lasting relationships with all my patients and families. Every encounter with a child and their family is special” expressed the doctor.

To provide care for all the reconstructive and hearing rehabilitative needs of children with microtia and canal atresia, Dr. Truong oversees a dedicated Microtia and Atresia Clinic. A Bay Area Native, Dr. Truong received her Bachelor of Science degree in Neuroscience from the University of California, Los Angeles, graduating with honors. She then went on to attend medical school at the University of California, Irvine School of Medicine in 2003.

Otolaryngology is a medical specialty which is focused on the ears, nose, and throat. It is also called otolaryngology-head and neck surgery because specialists are trained in both medicine and surgery. An otolaryngologist is often called an ear, nose, and throat doctor, or an ENT for short.

With a love for the art and technical aspects of reconstructive surgery, Dr. Truong believes that the biggest reason for her success is that she loves what she does and caring for children with these diagnoses.

A firm believer in the importance of respect for all the diversity of humankind, she is proficient in Spanish and conversational in Vietnamese languages. Her personal interests include musical theater and Karaoke, and she is a volunteer with Smile Cambodia and Hugs Foundation.
