Dr. Ashchi is a world-renowned and trusted expert in heart and vascular diseases. He is available to referring physicians and patients for consultative cardiology, interventional cardiology, endovascular medicine, vascular medicine, and electrophysiology.

From the early age of six when his same-age cousin had to have open-heart surgery, he knew medicine was his passion. While waiting, along with his parents and family to make sure his playmate was going to live, the doctor asked him what he wanted to become, and he answered a heart doctor. His lifelong passion became his purpose.

As the Founder of Ashchi Heart & Vascular Center in Jacksonville, Florida, Dr. Ashchi treats patients with heart and vascular diseases with the expertise, care, and compassion that each one of them deserves. Continuing his reputation for excellence in patient care based on mutual trust and respect, he and his professional staff are dedicated to providing high quality, comprehensive diagnostic and treatment services for patients experiencing diseases of the heart and vascular system (both arteries and veins). Among his academic appointments, Dr. Ashchi serves as an Instructor at Nova Southeastern University, College of Health Care Sciences’ Physician Assistant Program, and as an Adjunct Clinical Professor at Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine, High Point University, and Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. 

Back in 1989, he earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from the College of Osteopathic Medicine at Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He then went on to complete his residency in internal medicine at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in 1993, followed by his fellowship in cardiovascular disease at the Case Western Reserve University College of Medicine in 1996. He also completed extra months of training in vascular and endovascular medicine training at Lenox Hill Hospital, Arizona Heart Institute, and Milwaukee Hospital, as well as a fellowship in interventional cardiology at the University of Connecticut, Hartford Hospital in 1997. 

With regard to his noteworthy accomplishments, Dr. Ashchi is board-certified in both internal medicine and cardiovascular disease by the American Board of Internal Medicine, which is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world. He is also a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology and a Fellow of the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions.

Cardiology is a branch of medicine that deals with the disorders of the heart, as well as some parts of the circulatory system. The field includes medical diagnosis and treatment of congenital heart defects, coronary artery disease, heart failure, valvular heart disease, and electrophysiology. Cardiologists are doctors who diagnose, assess, and treat patients with diseases and defects of the heart and blood vessels (the cardiovascular system).

A demonstrator of recognizable success, Dr. Ashchi is a recipient of many honors and awards, including: Nova Southeastern University Physician Assistant Program – Jacksonville; Preceptor of the Quarter in 2015, Patients’ Choice Award in 2011, Community Partnership Award, St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office in 2011, Demonstration of Outstanding Achievement and Contribution to the Betterment of our City and Nation awarded by the Freedom Foundation of Valley Forge in 2010, Acknowledgement for Contributions to the Legacy of Excellence in Clinical Research, Medical Education, and Patient Care by the Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine in 2010, Physician of the Year in the State of Florida by the Florida Osteopathic Medical Association in 2007, Special Achievement Award for Education in 2006, and many others.
