Larson Family Medicine began in 1962 when Dr. Roger K Larson, MD, came to practice in the south sound area, now known as Burien. Integral to his practice was his passion to serve and provide the best care to his patients and the community. Through the years, he developed a successful family practice model and excellent reputation for high quality, thorough primary care and surgical services. He retired in 2012 and at that time, his daughter, Margaret, assumed responsibility of the family practice.
Continuing her father’s legacy, she and staff have achieved national recognition of the practice with the NCQA Accreditation as a Patient Centered Medical Home, Better Business Accreditation, AlmaLasers and Metagenics Regional Center of Excellence and Bellafill Regional Training Center. They have a unique family practice approach to prevention, lifelong wellness and optimal health for individuals and families, providing comprehensive, quality healthcare and anti-aging services.
Inspired by her father and her mother, a registered nurse, Margaret pursued a career in the healthcare field. She obtained her Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Psychology from Pacific Lutheran University in 1982, followed by her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree from the University of Washington in Seattle in 1987. As for her graduate school training, she completed her Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degrees with a Concentration on Healthcare Administration & then Family Nurse Practice at Pacific Lutheran University in 2000 and 2005, respectively.
In the course of her professional journey, she furthered her education, becoming certified to conduct neuromodulator, dermal filler, cryolipolysis, laser, pellet insertion and platelet-rich plasma procedures. In 2019, she launched her residency program to mentor new nurse practitioner graduates in the combination of private practice of family practice and medical aesthetics.
In order to stay up to date in her field, Margaret remains a member of several professional organizations, including the American Association of Aesthetic Medicine, the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, the Washington State Medical Association, the King County Medical Society, the Washington State Academy of Family Practice, as well as the American Academy of Family Practice (Lifetime Member and Fellow). Board-certified through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, she is also an Affiliate Allied Health Professional Staff Member of Highline Medical Center.
An Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) is a nurse who has obtained at least a master’s degree in nursing. APRNs may work across various healthcare settings, including hospitals, ambulatory clinics or long-term care facilities. They provide medical support and preventative care to patients, along with additional responsibilities of coordinating patient care and using specialized knowledge to manage complex patient conditions. APRNs can diagnose and treat as well as order and interpret tests and prescribe medications.
A Certified Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C) is an advanced practice registered nurse who works autonomously or in collaboration with other healthcare professionals, to deliver family-focused care. Given the rather broad nature of the “family” patient population focus, FNPs offer a wide range of healthcare services that revolve around the family unit; from health promotion and disease prevention to direct care and counseling across the lifespan.
A world renowned expert on medical aesthetics, Margaret attributes her professional success to working with her father in his family practice and having the ability and qualifications to take over the practice, as well as her education and desire to be a center for excellent patient care, treating her patients with a caring heart.
As a provider, she was presented BellaDiamond Provider Award and Top US Bellafill Provider since 2014 and Top Bellafill Provider in the World in 2018 by Suneva Medical, INC and lastly, the Top Family Nurse Practitioner in Washington State by the International Nursing Association in 2018.
Adjacent to her career, her avocations include athletic activities such as downhill skiing and hiking. Margaret is happily married to her husband, Arthur, and together they are proud parents of a blended family of two sons and four daughters.
