Marie is a registered nurse who works in the Transplant Unit at Montefiore Medical Center in Bronx, New York. After earning her nursing degree from Ecole Nationale d’ Infirmieres de Port-au-Prince (ENIP)  in Haiti in 1991, Marie relocated in the United States in 1999. She is always proud to tell people  that she is a foreign nurse, an alumni of ENIP( HAITI). She went back to school after more than a decade. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree at Mercy College in New York. Wanting to continue her education, she went on to earn her Master of Science in Nursing degree from Pace University, also located in New York.

In order to remain up to date in her field, she is a member of the New York State Nurses Association and the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing. Recently, she also joined the Nurse Practitioner Association ( Lower Hudson Valley).

A registered nurse (RN) is a nurse who has graduated from a nursing program and met the requirements outlined by a country, state, province or similar licensing body to obtain a nursing license. RNs fulfill a variety of job duties. In addition to their primary role of treating and caring for patients, their responsibilities also include educating patients and the public about a variety of medical conditions, as well as providing emotional support and advice to the families of their patients. Other RN job functions include performing diagnostic tests and analyzing results, operating medical equipment, administering medications, recording patients’ symptoms and medical histories, as well as assisting with patient rehabilitation and follow-up.
