Dr. Ruebsamen is a psychologist who specializes in traumatic stress. She is the Founding Director of Abbey Psychological Services in San Jose, California. The practice, which focuses on children’s mental health and wellbeing, aims to diminish sources of suffering, promote sources of joy in the lives of children, ​strengthen parents’ relationships with their children, as well as promote relationship-based parenting. Abbey Psychological Services also provides general psychological mental health services for children, adults, the elderly, veterans, as well as refugee/asylum seeking individuals. 

Dr. Ruebsamen is also the Executive Director of Always Be Listening Global Initiative – a non-profit organization. Furthermore, she is an Expert Reviewer for Pearson Assessment Services Inc., as well as a Juvenile Dependency Court Forensic Psychologist with the Superior Court of Santa Clara County. Additionally, Dr. Ruebsamen is affiliated with the Chabad Psychiatric Clinic in San Francisco, California. 

As an expert in her field, Dr. Ruebsamen aims to promote rapid safe access to quality precision mental health ​services for children and their families. She also aims to reduce mental health disparities in the United States and around the globe. Some of the services that she provides include reunification/reconnection therapy and relationship-based parenting – among others. 

Dr. Ruebsamen earned her Bachelor of Arts degree and her Master of Arts degree from the San Francisco State University in San Francisco, California. She then went on to earn her Master of Science degree in clinical psychology from Palo Alto University, followed by her PhD in clinical psychology from the same university. Dr. Ruebsamen completed her pre-doctoral psychology internship with Family and Children’s Services of Silicon Valley, formerly known as the Adult and Child Guidance Center. She then went on to complete her postdoctoral psychology internship with Family and Children’s Services in San Jose, California.

Dr. Ruebsamen is a member of the American Psychological Association, the International Association of Ethno – Psychoanalysis, the American Academy of Experts in Traumatic Stress, the World Association for Infant Mental Health, HealthRight International, and the International Society for the Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect.

Dr. Ruebsamen attributes her success to her passion for her field, as well as her motivation to provide quality care. ​Dr. Ruebsamen is a global humanitarian. In her spare time, she enjoys reading.
