Its mission is to improve the lives of patients by providing customized, comprehensive, high quality kidney care.
Having been in the practice of nephrology and hypertension for over 25 years, Dr Torres believes in educating patients about their kidney or blood pressure issues and how to protect and preserve their kidneys and overall health. Spending time and communicating is his “old school” approach that has served him and his patients well and seems a lost art in medicine.
Licensed to practice medicine in Arizona, he holds privileges at Kingman Regional Medical Center, Valley View Medical Center, and Havasu Regional Medical Center (serving as the Chief of the Department of Medicine & member of the Medical Executive Committee). He is also on active staff at Fresenius Dialysis Centers of Arizona in Lake Havasu, Kingman, Parker, & Bullhead City, Arizona.
With a broad educational background, Dr. Torres studied Biomedical Sciences at the University of California, Irvine and Golden West College in 1978. This was followed by a residency in internal medicine and fellowships in rheumatology and nephrology at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, completing his training in 1991.
Among his clinical experience, he served as the Medical Director of the Acute Dialysis Program at Our Lady of Lourdes Dialysis Center (2012 – 2015), the Medical Director of Dialysis Services at Our Lady of Lourdes Dialysis Center (2010 – 2015), the Medical Director of the Mt. Among his professional affiliations, he is a member of the American Society of Diagnostic and Interventional Nephrology, the Camden County Medical Society, the Medical Society of New Jersey, the Renal Physicians Association, and the American Society of Nephrology.
As a testament to his success, Dr. Torres is board-certified in internal medicine and nephrology by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). Nephrology is a specialty of medicine and pediatrics that concerns itself with the kidneys. It is the study of normal kidney function and kidney disease, the preservation of kidney health, and the treatment of kidney disease, from diet and medication to renal replacement therapy. Nephrologists have advanced training in treating kidney disease. They diagnose and treat kidney failure, as well as help patients by prescribing medications, offering special diet advice, and coordinating dialysis care or kidney transplantation when it becomes necessary.
Happily married, Dr. Torres is bilingual in English and Spanish.
