In the early days of his academic career, Dr. Blum obtained his medical degree from the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in 1983. He then went on to complete his residency in cardiology at Mount Sinai Hospital.
Moving to New Jersey in 1988, he underwent further specialty training in interventional cardiology at the Beth Israel Medical Center in Newark, before moving to Morristown with the introduction of the heart surgery program there in 1989.
A Fellow of the American College of Cardiology (FACC) and a Fellow of the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions (FSCAI), the doctor is board-certified in internal medicine and cardiovascular disease by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.
Providing top quality care has always been Dr. Blum’s main focus. With this in mind, he has been active in clinical research, providing his patients’ access to new medications and technology long before they are available to the general public.
