On a professional level, he is an active member of the American Medical Association, the Congress of Neurological Surgeons, the Eastern Association of Surgery of Trauma, and the American Association of the Surgery of Trauma.

As for his academic appointments, he serves as faculty at the University of North Dakota, and is a Clinical Instructor at the University of California-Davis, and Wright State University.
