“I love the interaction that I have with patients. As a physician in the specialty of PM&R I get to see patients over a long period of time. This allows my patients and I to form great relationships, bonded with trust. After life has been preserved, the quality of life must be maximized to one’s fullest extent. I love being a part of the miraculous improvements they undergo. Things we take for granted such as walking, eating, or even sleeping peacefully are issues that a large population of our community deal with and I love seeing changes” expressed Dr. Charles-Pierre.

In order to connect best with her patients, she lets them speak with no interruptions, chiming in only to make sure that she is understanding them correctly. In addition, she likes to explain her thought process to her patients so that they can understand the plan in helping them get better. The more they understand their uniquely formulated plan, the more they will take their part in improving their quality of life

Graduating with her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the SUNY University at Albany, Dr. Charles-Pierre earned her medical degree from the Saba University School of Medicine. She then completed her internship at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine / Queens Hospital Center, and her residency in physical medicine and rehabilitation at the Wayne State University / Detroit Medical Center.

Distinguished as a Fellow of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (FAAPMR), the doctor attained board certification in physical medicine and rehabilitation through the American Board of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (ABPMR). Founded in 1947, the ABPMR is the medical certifying board for the specialty of physical medicine and rehabilitation. Physical medicine and rehabilitation, also known as physiatry and physiatrics, is a branch of medicine that aims to enhance and restore functional ability and quality of life to those with physical impairments or disabilities.
