Born in Manhattan and raised in New England, Dr. Partington attended Williams College and graduated with honors before he received his medical degree from Cornell University Medical College where he was president of his class. He completed a vigorous, 7-year general surgery program at UCLA. During that time he also served as a research fellow for the Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery at UCLA Medical Center where he published extensively.
Subsequently, he trained in plastic surgery at New York University under the renowned Dr. Joseph McCarthy. He completed his surgical training in both microsurgery and hand surgical fellowship in San Francisco under the late Dr. Harry Buncke, who is regarded as the Father of Microsurgery.
As a testament of his continued education, the doctor is board-certified in plastic surgery and surgery of the hand by the American Board of Plastic Surgery (ABPS). The mission of the ABPS is to promote safe, ethical, efficacious plastic surgery to the public by maintaining high standards for the education, examination, certification, and continuous certification of plastic surgeons as specialists and subspecialists.
Moreover, he is board-certified in general surgery by the American Board of Surgery (ABS). The ABS is an independent, non-profit organization located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, founded for the purpose of certifying surgeons who have met a defined standard of education, training, and knowledge.
In order to remain up to date in his field, Dr. Partington is an active member of the American Society of Plastic Surgery, the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, the Northwest Society of Plastic Surgeons, and the ReSurge International Surgery Committee.
In his professional experience, he can be found on staff at Athenix Body Sculpting Institute. In the past, he was the Director of Microsurgery at the University of Pennsylvania Medical Center for 5 years, and then went on to serve as Chief of Plastic Surgery at the Everett Clinic in Washington before starting his private practice on the Eastside in 1998.
Dedicated to volunteer teaching internationally since 1991, Dr. Partington has performed hundreds of cleft lip/ palate, hand and burn surgeries on children in Asia, Africa and South America. He is the Director of Healing the Children Seattle, a non profit organization supporting burned children in the Northwest and Nepal.
