May Talha Arnaot, MD, PhD, Oncologist, Clinical Pharmacologist, Legal Expert, and Medical Practitioner

Get to know May Talha Arnaot, who serves several communities around the globe.

May Talha Arnaot received a bachelor’s degree in veterinary medicine and surgery from the  University of Baghdad, Iraq in 1977. She also received a medical degree from the University of Amsterdam and Free University of A’dam in 1990 and a medical degree from Rijks University of Gent in Belgium in 1993. Wanting to further her education, she received her PhD in Clinical Pharmacology of Anticancer Drugs from the University of London – Guy’s Hospital Medical School in 1982. Additionally, Dr. Arnaot holds a bachelor’s degree of law from the University of London – Faculty of Law, and several specialist diplomas in Tropical Medicine (Prince Leopold Institute of Tropical Medicine – Antwerp, Belgium, 1995), Family Planning and Reproductive Health (Royal College of Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Faculty of Family Planning, London, 1997) and Underwater Medicine (Institute of Naval Medicine-Gosport, United Kingdom, 2000).  She was a postdoctoral medical research fellow who studied new anticancer treatment methods at Brown University in 1984 and overseas fellow of the Royal Society of Medicine London in 2013.

Dr. Arnaot remains an active member of the American Society of Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics. She is an exceptionally experienced Oncologist, Clinical Pharmacologist, Legal Expert, and Medical Practitioner who has been practicing for over 30 years and is currently serving patients as a single family practitioner and medicolegal expert in Belgium and the United Kingdom through Mooksteeg International Clinic – her private practice. Some of her previous core positions include cancer researcher at the Antony van Leeuwenhoek Medical Institute in Amsterdam, Netherlands; clinical pharmacologist at the Faculty of Medicine-University of Amsterdam; lecturer at the Faculty of Medicine Salah Uddin (Kurdistan) in Iraq; and medical expert/district medical officer in a Belgian-Zambian development programme. She is also  the Founder of Iraqis for Justice, an organization concerned with the effects of radiation and chemical pollution on the development of cancer and birth defects in Iraq.

Dr. Arnaot enjoys a combination of academic, clinical pharmacological, medical and legal qualifications. She is a consultant medical practitioner who is particularly interested in the occurrence of oncological problems in medical practice and works by advising patients after diagnosis on the nature and prospects of their ailment, as well as by offering medical/legal advice if and whenever necessary. Moreover, she engages in writing oncological issues mainly in Arabic, as well as in English. Dr. Arnaot attributes her success to the continuous support of her friends, family, and colleagues, as well as to her self-confidence and belief in the causes and goals to be achieved. In her spare time, she enjoys writing, reading, traveling, and listening to music.
