Throughout his career, he has held academic positions at prestigious institutions such as University of Miami Miller School of Medicine and Tulane University Health Sciences Center, where he made significant contributions to research and education.

As a Fellow of the American College of Physicians (FACP) and the American Society of Clinical Oncology (FASCO), Dr. Santos continues to be actively involved in professional organizations such as the American Society of Hematology, the American Association for Cancer Research, the Florida Society of Clinical Oncology, the International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer, and the European Society for Medical Oncology.
