Meet Kristina V. Fisher: Certified Nurse Midwife and Registered Nurse
Empowering Women’s Health with Compassion and Expertise
Kristina V. Fisher, a Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) and Registered Nurse, is making significant strides in the fields of midwifery, women’s health, and ambulatory care. With more than a decade of experience, she is affiliated with both the Multnomah County Health Department in Portland, Oregon, and Legacy Salmon Creek Medical Center, an esteemed acute care hospital located in Vancouver, Washington.
Kristina’s journey in the healthcare field began at Clark College, where she earned her Associate of Science in Registered Nursing in 2012. Determined to expand her knowledge and skills, she continued her education at Washington State University Vancouver, obtaining a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2015. Her commitment to excellence led her to Frontier Nursing University, where she completed her Master of Science in Nursing in 2019. This advanced training has equipped her with the expertise and confidence necessary to thrive in her roles, providing exceptional care to her patients.
Driven by a lifelong desire to help others, Kristina attributes her success to the love and empathy she feels for her patients. Growing up as the oldest child in a single-parent household, she took on significant responsibilities early in life, helping to care for her siblings while her mother worked long hours. This early experience instilled in her a deep understanding of compassion and responsibility, qualities that have become the cornerstone of her nursing practice.
After moving to the United States in 2006 with aspirations of becoming an OBGYN, Kristina discovered her passion for nursing—a field that allows her to combine medical practice with meaningful patient relationships. As the first member of her family to pursue a career in medicine, she remains inspired by her journey and the impact she has on the lives of women and families.
To stay at the forefront of her field, Kristina actively engages with current literature, reading reputable sources such as the Clinical Journal for Nurse Practitioners in Women’s Health and the American COllege of Obstetricians and Gynecologists Medical Journal. She is committed to continuing her professional development and looks forward to making a positive impact on many more lives in the future.
