Michael D. Stern graduated from Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in microbiology. Wanting to further his education, he continued his studies there, earning his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 1972. During his time at Ohio State University, he served as an officer for the Block O Cheering Section, helping to create display stunts for entertainment during games and after touchdowns. Following graduation, he served his internship at the University of Florida and then went on to study with Dr. Bill Dorfman – famous for his role on the ABC series, Extreme Makeover.
Dr. Stern is board-certified in Pain Management and has earned the coveted title of Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry, Fellow of the International College of Cranio-Mandibular Orthopedics, and Diplomate of the American Academy of Pain Management. He maintains professional memberships with the American Dental Association, the Ohio Dental Association, and the Academy of Laser Dentistry. He also served as both president and director of public health education with the Northeastern Ohio Dental Society and has been recognized as a Top Dentist in Ohio by HealthTap. Dr. Stern originally served patients in Wickliffe and Lake County for a decade, before founding his Willoughby Hills practice.
Each year, Dr. Stern participates in courses, seminars, and other forms of continuing education to stay at the forefront of the latest thinking, techniques, materials, and equipment in dentistry. He offers preventive services, such as regular exams and professional teeth cleanings, which are designed to help patients’ maintain good oral health. He also offers restorative services, such as cosmetic bonding and porcelain veneers, whenever necessary and helps to ensure timely and appropriate treatment. In his spare time, he enjoys traveling, visiting family, gardening, listening to music, fine dining, and cars.
