Dr. Giuffrida completed his medical degree at SUNY Upstate Medical University.  After obtaining his Medical Degree Dr. Giuffrida completed a fellowship in minimally invasive, gastrointestinal and bariatric surgery at North Shore-Long Island Jewish Health System, an internship and residency at Saint Vincent’s Hospital and Medical Center, a fellowship at Children’s Hospital Boston and his residency at Massachusetts General Hospital.  Dr. Giuffrida currently practices with New York Surgical Partners as a Laparoscopic Surgeon.

General surgeons not only perform surgeries for a wide range of common ailments, but are also responsible for patient care before, during, and after surgery. General surgeons are trained to operate on the Alimentary Tract (esophagus and related organs), Abdomen and its Contents, Breast, Skin and Soft Tissue, and the Endocrine System. In addition, general surgeons are expected to have knowledge and experience in Surgical Critical Care, Surgical Oncology, and Trauma.
