Throughout his extensive career, Dr. Goldberg has held esteemed positions, including serving as a former Governor of the American College of Gastroenterology and the American Gastroenterological Association as well as the former Chief of Gastroenterology and Vice Chairman of Medicine at Northshore University Healthcare. Additionally, he was on staff at the University of Illinois and the University of Chicago, teaching countless medical students, residents, and fellows. 

Board certified in gastroenterology, Dr. Goldberg is recognized as a Diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.

On a professional level, Dr. Goldberg is an active member of the American College of Physician Executives, the American Gastroenterological Association, and the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (Fellow). 

Gastroenterology is the branch of medicine focused on the digestive system and its disorders. A gastroenterologist is a physician who has extensive training in the diagnosis and treatment of disorders related to the esophagus, stomach, small intestines, colon, liver, pancreas, and biliary system.

On a more personal note, Dr. Goldberg’s preferred vacation spot is Key Biscayne, and he finds enjoyment in golf. The American Journal of Gastroenterology holds the distinction of being his favorite professional publication.
