Dr. Wadsworth is a fellowship-trained pediatric emergency physician at Premier Pediatrics in Virginia Beach, Virginia. It is a part of Children’s Hospital of The King’s Daughters (CHKD), the only freestanding children’s hospital in Virginia.

Growing up in Maryland, Dr. Wadsworth graduated with her medical degree from Eastern Virginia Medical School in 1991. She then went on to perform her residency in pediatrics at CHKD in 1994. She relocated to Cincinnati for her fellowship at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center but always knew that the Tidewater area was her home. She worked in the CHKD Emergency Center for seven years before joining her colleagues at Premier Pediatrics.
A Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics, she is board-certified in pediatrics and pediatric emergency medicine by the American Board of Pediatrics (ABP). The mission of the ABP is to advance child health by certifying pediatricians who meet standards of excellence and are committed to continuous learning and improvement.
Enthusiastic about passing on her love of pediatrics, Dr. Wadsworth enjoys teaching students and residents the art of medicine. She is a mentor in Ocean Lakes Math and Science Academy Program, a preceptor for first- and second-year medical students in the Longitudinal Graduate Medical Program at Eastern Virginia Medical School, a member of the physician advisory committee at Children’s Medical Group, and a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society.
Pediatrics is the branch of medicine that involves the medical care of infants, children, and adolescents. The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends people be under pediatric care up to the age of 21. A pediatric emergency physician is a specialist in the care of children and teens who are acutely ill or injured. They are trained to care for a wide range of problems that require immediate medical help. These problems are often serious and may be life-threatening.
Among her numerous accolades, Dr. Wadsworth is the recipient of Compassionate Doctor Recognition (2014), Patients’ Choice Award (2015), and On-Time Doctor Award (2015).
Married with two children, she enjoys spending time with her family. In her free time, she enjoys reading, doing yoga, and all the outdoor activities living at the beach provides. She is also a member of the Hampton Roads Hiking Club.
