Back in 1994, Dr. Pashmforoush graduated with his medical degree from the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine. He then went on to complete his residency in internal medicine at the University of Washington Medical Center in 1996, followed by a fellowship in cardiovascular disease at the University of California, San Diego in 2003, and a fellowship in cardiac electrophysiology at the University of California, San Francisco in 2004.

Holding a license to practice medicine in California, the doctor is board-certified in cardiovascular disease, clinical care electrophysiology, and internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.

Alongside his clinical role, he serves as an Assistant Professor of Medicine within the Division of Cardiology/Cardiac Electrophysiology at the University of Southern California.

Cardiology is a branch of medicine that deals with the disorders of the heart, as well as some parts of the circulatory system. The field includes medical diagnosis and treatment of congenital heart defects, coronary artery disease, heart failure, valvular heart disease, and electrophysiology. Cardiologists are doctors who diagnose, assess, and treat patients with diseases and defects of the heart and blood vessels (the cardiovascular system).

Among his various accolades, Dr. Pashmforoush has been the recipient of the Wright Foundation Award (2006), Zumberge Fellowship Award (2006), NIH Loan Repayment Fellowship (2006), North American Society of Pacing and Electrophysiology (NASPE) fellowship (2004), Schulmann Award for basic science research (2001) Medical Alumni Prize (1994), and Kellogg Research Award (1992).
