Dr. Mohammad Usman Nasir Khan, a board certified vascular surgeon with advanced endovascular skills, serves as the Medical Director at the Vascular and Vein Center of New Jersey (VVCNJ) in Eatontown and is on staff at HMH Bayshore Medical Center.

Dr. Khan’s expertise spans a broad spectrum of vascular conditions and treatments. He is skilled in managing peripheral arterial disease with angioplasty, stenting, and leg bypass, as well as stroke and carotid stenosis through TCAR, carotid artery stenting, and endarterectomy. His work also includes renal failure and hemodialysis access with dialysis catheters, AV fistulas, and AV grafts, as well as mesenteric ischemia with renal artery angioplasty. Dr. Khan’s capabilities extend to treating thoracic and abdominal aortic aneurysms with TEVAR, EVAR, and open repair methods, in addition to managing various venous diseases, including venous insufficiency, May-Thurner syndrome, and varicose veins.

Dr. Khan’s academic and professional training began with his Higher Secondary School Diploma (F.Sc.) from Crescent Model H.S. School in Lahore, Pakistan, completed in March 1988. He then earned his Bachelor of Surgery, Bachelor of Medicine (MBBS) from Allama Iqbal Medical College in Lahore in March 1997. Furthering his training, Dr. Khan completed a General Surgery Residency at the University of Connecticut Integrated Program, a Fellowship in Surgical Critical Care at Hartford Hospital, and a Fellowship in Vascular Surgery at the State University of New York at Buffalo, under the direction of Dr. Linda M. Harris.

As a Diplomate of the American Board of Surgery and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS), the Society for Vascular Surgery (FSVS), and the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography & Interventions (FSCAI), Dr. Khan is committed to providing the highest standard of care to his patients.

In his previous role as Chief of Vascular Surgery at Jersey Shore Medical Center (JSUMC), he played a pivotal role in developing the hospital’s vascular surgery program. His tenure was marked by significant achievements, including performing the first successful total percutaneous abdominal aortic aneurysm repair (EVAR) at JSUMC, which subsequently earned the hospital a prestigious Center of Excellence designation. 

Dr. Khan has led groundbreaking research initiatives, including the LIFE trial, aimed at evaluating a primary device for percutaneous EVAR, and the Ranger-II trial, which compared drug-coated balloons to standard balloon angioplasty. He also initiated the first Premarket and Pre-FDA approval trial at JSUMC and became only the second surgeon in New Jersey to perform the advanced TCAR procedure, earning the Physician Champion Award and contributing to JSUMC’s recognition as a Center of Excellence for TCAR in both 2018 and 2019.

Dr. Khan’s recent recognition by Newsweek as one of the Top 200 Vascular Surgeons of 2024 in America underscores his dedication and contributions to the field of vascular surgery, cementing his reputation as a leader in patient care and innovative surgical techniques.
