Molly went on to become the floor’s Charge RN and a leader in outcome improvement initiatives. In fact, she helped lead her unit to become the top-rated floor in the entire hospital.

During her 7 years working full-time as a registered nurse at Rush, Molly got accepted into Rush University’s nationally ranked DNP program. She began her (almost) 4 year doctoral journey and eventually graduated with high honors as a Family Nurse Practitioner in 2018. Post graduation, Molly wanted to move closer to her family in Michigan, so she decided to start her nursing career in Metro Detroit. Additionally, Molly’s research interests include mental health, addiction, management of depression and anxiety, and antibiotic treatment strategies.

Molly chose a career in nursing because she had always loved helping people and learning about the human body and science. The idea of combining her innate desire to connect and help people, as well as acquiring a body of knowledge and critical thinking skills that would allow her to care for others, was her dream job. She was drawn to nursing due to the holistic patient care approach, the focus on health and wellness, and the ability to take her career to the doctorate level.

Molly attributes her success to her hunger for learning and always wanting to figure out solutions or problems. She also attributes her success to her humility to ask for help and learn from others, her genuine compassion for bettering the lives of others, as well as her desire to work towards being one of the best in her line of work.

When asked what motivates her at the start of each day, Molly answered that she is motivated by the chance to meet new patients, work to connect with them, and earn their trust and respect as their doctor.

Molly strives to make a difference in the lives of her patients by listening to them, as well as giving them the time, attention, and care they deserve. She remains dedicated to utilizing the latest evidence-based practice or guidelines in her patient care, with an aim to achieve positive patient satisfaction and outcomes.
