Dr. Haque is a distinguished anatomic and clinical pathologist and hematopathologist at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – College Station. 

In her role, she oversees the diagnostic reporting process for hematopathology, surgical pathology, immunology, clinical chemistry and microbiology.  Her expertise is critical in diagnosing blood cancers and bone marrow disorder cases. Additionally, Dr. Haque plays a critical role in managing intraoperative frozen section evaluation, cytology onsite evaluation, and transfusion medicine while actively participating in resident teaching and engaging in numerous scholarly activities. She plays a leading role in various critical hospital committees as well.

Pertaining to her educational pursuits, Dr. Haque graduated with her Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery Degree from Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College in India in 1999. She subsequently received a Doctor of Medicine in Pathology from Datta Meghe Institute of Medical Sciences in India in 2007, followed by a residency in anatomic and clinical pathology at the University of South Alabama in 2020 and fellowships in surgical pathology and hematopathology at Baylor College of Medicine in 2021 and 2022, respectively.

With over 20 years of experience in the field of medicine, Dr. Haque is board certified in anatomic and clinical pathology and in hematopathology by the American Board of Pathology (ABPath). The mission of the ABPath is to promote the health of the public and advance the practice and science of pathology by establishing voluntary certification standards and assessing the qualifications of those seeking to practice the specialty of pathology.

Before joining Baylor Scott, Dr. Haque found success as a clinical research coordinator at Research Consultants in Houston from 2015 to 2016. Earlier in her career, she has served as a consultant pathologist and laboratory quality manager at Paras Hospitals in Gurgaon, India, between 2007 and 2011 where she led her hospital pathology department towards success in getting highest levels of national accreditations as the quality manager.

Actively involved with a large number of distinguished pathology associations, Dr. Haque is a member of the Texas Society of Pathologists, the United States and Canadian Academy of Pathology, the College of American Pathologists (serving as lead inspector), the American Society for Clinical Pathology, the American Society of Hematology, the Society for Hematopathology, the American Medical Association, the American Association of Blood Banks, the International Academy of Pathology, the Digital Pathology Association, the Association of Indian Pathologists of North America, and the American Association of Physicians of Indian Origin. In the role of pathology ambassador, she has helped advocate the significance of pathologists to the general public and students.

Pathology is a branch of medical science that involves the study and diagnosis of disease through the examination of surgically removed organs, tissues, bodily fluids, and in some cases, the whole body. Pathologists are physicians who specialize in the diagnosis and management of diseases by laboratory methods.

Beside her expert skills in diagnostic pathology, Dr. Haque has established herself as a skilled researcher in the field of pathology and oncology. Her research projects have been showcased at a large number of national and international pathology conferences. 

Dr. Haque has authored numerous peer-reviewed manuscripts featured in prominent journals, along with contributing to online chapters. Actively engaged in the peer review process, she also lends her expertise to evaluating journals and pathology literature.
