Myron D. Goldberg, MD, is one of New York’s leading gastroenterologists and hepatologists. With more than thirty years of practice in the Tri-State Area, he provides privacy, professionalism, state-of-the-art facilities, and an exemplary safety record for every patient he sees. He currently practices with his private practice, procedures he offers include colonoscopy, upper endoscopy, capsule endoscopy, and flexible sigmoidoscopy.

Dr. Goldberg received his medical degree from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York. He carried out his post-graduate residencies at the Montefiore Medical Center and Lenox Hill Hospital, and he completed fellowship training in gastroenterology at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center and Lenox Hill Hospital.

He is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at New York University School of Medicine and is currently a senior attending physician at Lenox Hill Hospital where he served as the Associate Chief of Gastroenterology for over ten years.

Dr. Goldberg is board certified in both gastroenterology and internal medicine. In addition to being recognized by the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy for his excellent standards, Dr. Goldberg has also received the Physicians Recognition Award with Commendation from the American Medical Association. He is one of the top providers of endoscopies and colonoscopies in New York.

Gastroenterology is the study of the normal function and diseases of the esophagus, stomach, small intestine, colon and rectum, pancreas, gallbladder, bile ducts and liver. It involves a detailed understanding of the normal action (physiology) of the gastrointestinal organs including the movement of material through the stomach and intestine (motility), the digestion and absorption of nutrients into the body, removal of waste from the system, and the function of the liver as a digestive organ. It includes common and important conditions such as colon polyps and cancer, hepatitis, gastroesophageal reflux (heartburn), peptic ulcer disease, colitis, gallbladder and biliary tract disease, nutritional problems, Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), and pancreatitis. In essence, all normal activity and disease of the digestive organs are part of the study of Gastroenterology.
